It was time. I had finally had enough of the horrendous headache that was plaguing me on and off for nine days. So, as an employee of Shawnee Mission Medical Center, I drove myself to the Shawnee Mission Health - Prairie Star ER. Immediately, I was taken to a room and, by the wee hours, the doctors determined that I needed to be admitted due to my high blood pressure. I spent about a day and a half at the main hospital campus and received outstanding care. The nurses, doctors and nurse aids were all great and the experience made me so thankful to be part of such a great place. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Kimberly Cochran and her lovely physician assistant, Kristy Schroll, who assessed me while I was a patient. Also, to Dr. David Vodonick, Dr. Haiying Liang and everyone else, thank you.
