Adventist Health System recently recognized corporate services employees for incremental denominational service milestones. This year, the organization honored more than 500 employees for tenures of service ranging from five to 45 years, with more 100 of them achieving at least 15 years of service.
“We thank our honorees for their service to Adventist Health System, the contributions and the time and talent they have invested with us,” said Terry Shaw president/CEO for Adventist Health System. “It is truly remarkable to see this type of commitment to one organization.”
According to a 2016 release on employee tenure by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor, the median number of years that wage and salaried employees worked with their current employers was 4.2 years, down from 4.5 years in 2014. At Adventist Health System, however, the average tenure for employees across the organization is 7.5 years, which by far out-paces national trends.
Systemwide, Adventist Health System continues to place great emphasis on hiring and retaining the most talented and dedicated team members across all disciplines. Employees are able to explore various employment opportunities throughout the organization’s footprint over the course of their career, while also finding purpose in the fulfillment of the mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.
With more than 3,000 corporate services employees, Adventist Health System is frequently recognized by leading organizations and publications as one of the most desirable places to work. Some of these awards and accolades have included Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT; Becker's Hospital Review’s 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare; and the Gallup Great Workplace Award.
