Comfort in a Time of Need

An employee's compassion and willingness to listen makes all the difference for a Manchester Memorial Hospital patient who's processing a great loss.

I want to commend a staff member who told me he had just started working at Manchester Memorial Hospital. In fact, it was only his third day. He sat and talked with the patients, and brought each of them a rose or a fruit basket. He is perfect for this role.

I worked as a registered nurse for years and was always called in to assist with patients with emotional needs. Now I was the one in need of comfort after having lost three children. At Manchester, I could feel the compassion radiating from this employee. He sat and talked with me. I was so sick and physically and emotionally in need. He helped me. I just want you to know what a valuable employee you have.
