An Angel in the OR

A nervous patient is reassured by the caregiver who remains by her side during a procedure at Metroplex Adventist Hospital.

Some time ago, I had to go to the Outpatient Center at Metroplex Adventist Hospital and I was very afraid because I was having a procedure done on my heart. I hadn't slept the night before and I was anxious over how the surgery would turn out. Yet, when I arrived, the staff made me feel better by reassuring me that the doctor on my case was a good one.

Once in the room, I admitted to the nurse, Monika Limon, that I was so afraid, and she hugged me and said, "You are going to be fine; I will be here when you wake up." As I was being put to sleep, Monika hugged me once more and spoke to me until I was out. When I woke up, she was still there, and she gave me another big hug and said, "I told you you were going to be alright!" Everyone was great that day, but Monika was my angel from start to finish. Thank you, Monika, for being such a caring person. I'm so glad you're on Metroplex's team!
