The summer internship program is designed for students entering their senior year who are interested in exploring careers in management, finance, accounting, information systems or nursing leadership within the health care industry. Interns will gain insight into the health care industry and the dynamics of working for a health care system. Students who participate in this program are also given special consideration for one of the multi-year management residencies. Interns will develop valuable skills required for healthcare leadership positions through hands-on work experience, special project coordination and leadership interaction.
Our leadership residency programs are two- or three-years and are designed for graduates who have successfully completed our summer internship programs or have gained experience elsewhere working in their fields of study. Along the way, residents gain experience coordinating special projects and have the opportunity to observe executive leadership at the highest levels. This helps them to develop positive leadership attributes and become familiar with Adventists Health System's mission focused culture. They are also able to explore many areas of health care across the system by serving in organizations of various sizes. Residents are simultaneously enrolled in a local university to earn a master’s degree.
