Ken Bacon is president and chief executive officer of Shawnee Mission Health, and chief executive officer of Adventist Health System's Mid-America Region. He has served at Adventist Health System for more than 20 years and has a proven record of growing clinical areas such as neuroscience, cardiology, oncology, and trauma, while placing a priority on building physician and community relationships.
His past experience includes serving in various finance positions at Porter Adventist Hospital and Littleton Adventist Hospital, a managed care role at Centura Health's corporate office; CFO and president/CEO for Central Texas Medical Center, president/CEO during the construction and grand opening of Parker Adventist Hospital, and CEO for Littleton Adventist Hospital.
In addition to being a certified public accountant, Bacon holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas State University and a bachelor's degree in administration from Union College. He is active in his community, serving on the Kansas City Area Hospital Council, the Overland Park Chamber Board, Johnson County Community College Foundation Board, Union College Board, and the Mid-America Union Conference Executive Committee.
