Florida Hospital Zephyrhills President/CEO Announces Resignation
3/5/2007

Scott M. Pittman, FACHE, who has served as president and CEO of Florida Hospital Zephyrhills since 2001, announced that his last day as CEO will be June 30, 2007. During his tenure the team at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills has achieved many successes including the area’s first true electronic medical record and digital x-ray storage system, advanced medical quality and a 100,000+ square foot facility modernization and expansion whose Phase II involves additional physician offices and bed tower.

His team led the development of a solid vision and detailed plan for a new hospital in the Wesley Chapel community, and what many community members dreams about for years – The Florida Hospital Heart Institute, bringing full cardiac surgery services to the citizens of east Pasco County.

In a statement to the Board of Directors Pittman noted, “I believe God has blessed our organization and calls upon leaders with skills ‘needed in due season’. With the tough advances behind us now, it is time for a new leader to manage the next set of challenges here. Personally and professionally I have enjoyed my ministry here and am thankful for having had this opportunity to serve. I also am very thankful for the support I have received from the medical staff, the hospital board and our management team.”

Mike Schultz, Executive Vice President of Florida Division AHS, remarked, “I want to thank Scott for his leadership. During his service he executed with faithfulness and dedication, never wavering from the tasks at hand. He leaves in place a strong and committed management team and I am convinced the future of the organization is secure.

Pittman, who has nearly 10 years of service in Seventh-day Adventist institutional work, including pastoral and teaching ministry, said he plans a sabbatical to attend to family care needs while “considering several ministry options presenting to him”, although he did not rule out continued ministry within AHS.

Schultz indicated that a search for a new CEO would begin immediately and should be completed within 60 to 90 days. Pittman expressed his commitment to serve as CEO until such time as the new CEO is ready to assume that responsibility.
