The National Research Corporation (NRC) has named Florida Hospital one of the nation's top hospitals in its list of 2009-10 Consumer Choice Award winners. The award distinguishes hospitals that local residents identified as having the highest quality and image in more than 250 markets throughout the United States. In a survey of more than 200,000 households nationwide, Florida Hospital was considered the top hospital in Central Florida by consumers.
This is the 14th year the NRC has awarded hospitals whose consumers have recognized them for providing quality health care services and the 14th year Florida Hospital has been an award winner.
“We are honored that Central Florida has chosen Florida Hospital as the most preferred hospital,” said Lars Houmann, President and CEO of Florida Hospital. “This distinction reflects the commitment of our nurses, doctors, and staff living our mission, providing the highest quality of care, and ensuring the best patient experience for our community.”
The accolade is based on National Research Corporation's 2009/2010 Healthcare Market Guide, the nation's largest and most comprehensive study of its kind. Of the more than 3,200 hospitals named by consumers in the study, the winning facilities rank highest in their regions. Specifically, the criteria considered in the composite score included best doctors, best nurses, best overall quality and image and reputation.
