Florida Hospital recently announced that one of its physicians has received the Florida Family Physician of the Year Award presented by the Florida Academy of Family Physicians (FAFP). Dr. Jennifer Keehbauch, a family medicine physician at Florida Hospital’s Family Health Center Orlando, will officially receive the award at the FAFP Summer Breakout Session in July. Dr. Keehbauch will also be eligible to be nominated for the National Family Physician of the Year, awarded by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
In addition to her role as family medicine physician, Dr. Keehbauch is Assistant Director for the Florida Hospital Family Medicine Residency, the largest residency program in Florida and one of the largest in the nation.
“Few physicians are more dedicated to safe, high-quality patient care than Dr. Keehbauch,” said Dr. Kristen Gray, program director for the Florida Hospital Family Medicine Residency. “The best physicians are the ones who truly care about their patients and show it on a daily basis, as Dr. Keehbauch does.”
Dr. Keehbauch has been with Florida Hospital for ten years. One of her most notable achievements was helping to acquire a $150,000 grant that went toward the opening of the Florida Hospital After Hours Clinic for uninsured patients. The clinic has seen thousands of patients to date.
Dr. Keehbauch received her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. She completed her residency at Florida Hospital and a fellowship in underserved medicine at the University of California, San Diego. She recently completed a Faculty Development fellowship through Michigan State University in Research.
