Medical Externships

Medical Externships are designed to provide first year medical students with a first-hand clinical medicine experience early in their professional careers. Participants can explore innovative practice, as well as educational and physician administrative opportunities within Adventist Health System.

Program Overview:

Selected individuals will attend morning conferences and accompany Family Medicine faculty physicians, and/or residents, on their rounds. Afternoons will be spent attending out-patient clinics during this three week experience. A full introduction to the ever expanding roles of physicians within Adventist Health System will include exposure to additional learning experiences in innovative procedures and practices in the community hospital setting, understanding Seventh-day Adventist medical mission opportunities and administration (physician leadership within a hospital and a community setting).
